One of a pair of hand-carved mahogany Cheval dressing mirrors

French mirrors from an 1800s French armoire were used in the construction of the pair (one stained dark and one left light) of dressing mirrors. Although the mirrors were re-silvered, they have continued to oxidize with time. The back is solid wood, with large twin, ornamental brass knobs that control the desired angle at which the mirror is positioned. The base is composed of series of turnings to stabilize the angle and the weight of the heavy mirror. Height 65" x 29" width, in 3" frame with triple level carvings.
